What are Facial Veins & Spots? Facial veins are visible tiny veins that might look like a spider's web or squiggly lines. Facial veins are often simply a cosmetic nuisance, and not necessarily cause for concern. However, they can make you feel self-conscious and negatively affect your quality of life. Facial spots are usually the result of the adverse effects from exposure to UV light over time resulting in sun damage to your skin. Spots typically become noticeable as you age, but, can be present when you are young. How Do Lasers Work to Treat Vessels & Spots? Dr. Farrow uses a special laser with a wavelength of 532 nanometers. In simple terms, this 532 nm wavelength of light is absorbed readily by the red color of facial vessels and the brown color of spots. The laser beam is tiny so it can pinpoint veins and spots. When the laser light is applied then it is converted tp heat which causes the tiny vessels to immediately collapse and causes the dark spots to turn gray and slough off in 5-10 days. What Do Treatments Feel Like? With each pulse of the laser it feels like a tiny hot pin prick on your skin. However, a cold glass tip attached to the end of the laser hand piece cools the skin constantly during treatment, thus making the procedure more comfortable. * For some people it might take more than one treatment to achieve desired results. What is Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing? Fractional CO2 laser Resurfacing treatments can remove years of skin damage often with one quick treatment. What is IPL Treatment? IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Treatment, also known as IPL Photofacial is a non-ablative light treatment that improves the appearance of photo-aged skin, brown and red skin pigmentation, and fine lines and wrinkles. How Does IPL Treatment Work? IPL Treatment uses light energy to target and remove pigmented or damaged skin cells. The light is converted to heat energy as it penetrates below the surface of the skin, breaking down the damaged cells so they can be naturally removed by the body. The number of IPL treatments required varies from patient to patient depending on the severity of the concern being treated. Usually 3-6 treatments are necessary to achieve optimal results. What Areas Can be Treated with IPL? IPL can be used almost anywhere on the face and body. Popular treatment areas are the face, neck, chest, and hands. What Do Treatments Feel Like? The sensation felt during an IPL Treatment is of heat and and a mild pinching sensation, similar to a rubber band being snapped on the skin's surface. What is Jeuveau (pronounced ju-vo)? Jeuveau is a wrinkle relaxer that was approved by the FDA in 2019. Jeuveau is a quick treatment prepared with Hi-Pure Technology, which purifies proteins. This technology allows the product to be potentially safer with an increased ability to act within the placed area and a lower likelihood of entering the blood stream. Results appear after three to four days and last up to 3-5 months. How Does Jeauveau Work? When expertly injected, Jeuveau blocks the nerve signaling process that causes muscles to contract and form wrinkles. Jeuveau will not improve the appearance of static wrinkles caused by gravity or collagen and elastin loss that is commonly associated with the aging process. What Areas Can be Treated With Jeuveau? What is Laser Hair Removal? If you’re looking for a more permanent solution to getting rid of unwanted facial or body hair, you may want to consider laser hair removal. How Does Laser Hair Removal Work? Laser hair removal is a noninvasive technique that uses highly concentrated light to penetrate hair follicles. The laser light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair shaft. The light energy is then converted to heat which damages the follicle to inhibit future hair growth. Because laser hair removal only affects actively growing hair follicles, it may take several laser hair removal treatments to provide significant hair reduction. What is Sclerotherapy? Sclerotherapy is a procedure to remove the tiny red or bluish color spider veins on your legs. How Does Sclerotherapy Work? Dr. Farrow injects a solution called Asclera directly into the tiny veins. Asclera irritates the lining of the vessels causing it to collapse. This forces the blood to reroute through healthier veins, while the damaged veins fade away over the next two to six months. Sclerotherapy treatment is usually quick and there is no downtime afterwards. Usually, more than one treatment is necessary to achieve desired results. Sclerotherapy is safe for all skin types and tones, unlike some lasers that carry risks of pigmentation issues on olive or brown skin. What Do Treatments Feel Like? The needle that Dr. Farrow uses is very short and tiny in diameter. With each injection you will feel a brief mild pin prick. Additionally, dermal fillers are an option to treat volume loss on the top of the hands caused by aging. What Do Treatments Feel Like? Your comfort level depends on the area(s) being treated. What is RF Microneedling? This is why Dr. Farrow offers Nitonox as an option for patients seeking a low-discomfort experience while they receive treatment. Nitronox is a delivery system that provides a gas mixture of 50% medical nitrous oxide and 50% medical oxygen. It is commonly used to help ease discomfort during some medical and aesthetic procedures, such as those involving injections and lasers. Accordingly, we are able to provide a service such as Nitronox which drastically reduces discomfort, and in many cases, anxiety for those receiving aesthetic treatments. Nitronox is classified as an analgesic which means it is specifically designed for pain relief. It is NOT classified as an anesthetic (a treatment meant to put you to sleep). If you experience any discomfort or anxiety during your treatment, you are able to inhale the gas mixture through a mouthpiece, as needed. Nitrous Oxide is administered by you and therefore you are in complete control as to when you need it. You will remain fully awake, responsive, and breathing on your own through the entire process. Nitronox can be used for most any treatment you would like to make more comfortable. The cost for Nitronox is $60. The cost for the inhalation tubing and mouthpiece is $20.
