What Are Chemical Peels? Chemical Peels use acidic solutions to exfoliate the surface layers of dead skin cells, diminishing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, acne, and roughness. Our chemical peel offerings vary in strength and can be customized to address your unique skin concerns. How Do Chemical Peels Work? Chemical Peels accelerate exfoliation of the superficial layers of skin cells. An acidic peel solution is activated when applied to the surface of the skin. Depending on the strength of the peel, it will penetrate to different depths of the dermis (skin). Exfoliation or "peeling" of the treated cells will occur during the days following treatment. What Areas can be Treated with a Chemical Peel? Chemical peels are most commonly used to treat your face and neck. What Do Chemical Peel Treatments Feel Like? What a Chemical Peel feels like will vary depending on its strength. You can expect a feeling of heat, or a prickly, burning sensation when the peel is activated on the skin. This is why Dr. Farrow offers Nitonox as an option for patients seeking a low-discomfort experience while they receive treatment. Nitronox is a delivery system that provides a gas mixture of 50% medical nitrous oxide and 50% medical oxygen. It is commonly used to help ease discomfort during some medical and aesthetic procedures, such as those involving injections and lasers. Accordingly, we are able to provide a service such as Nitronox which drastically reduces discomfort, and in many cases, anxiety for those receiving aesthetic treatments. Nitronox is classified as an analgesic which means it is specifically designed for pain relief. It is NOT classified as an anesthetic (a treatment meant to put you to sleep). If you experience any discomfort or anxiety during your treatment, you are able to inhale the gas mixture through a mouthpiece, as needed. Nitrous Oxide is administered by you and therefore you are in complete control as to when you need it. You will remain fully awake, responsive, and breathing on your own through the entire process. Nitronox can be used for most any treatment you would like to make more comfortable.

What is Sclerotherapy? Sclerotherapy is a procedure to remove the tiny red or bluish color spider veins on your legs. How Does Sclerotherapy Work? Dr. Farrow injects a solution called Asclera directly into the tiny veins. Asclera irritates the lining of the vessels causing it to collapse. This forces the blood to reroute through healthier veins, while the damaged veins fade away over the next two to six months. Sclerotherapy treatment is usually quick and there is no downtime afterwards. Usually, more than one treatment is necessary to achieve desired results. Sclerotherapy is safe for all skin types and tones, unlike some lasers that carry risks of pigmentation issues on olive or brown skin. What Do Treatments Feel Like? The needle that Dr. Farrow uses is very short and tiny in diameter. With each injection you will feel a brief mild pin prick.
