What are Facial Veins & Spots? Facial veins are visible tiny veins that might look like a spider's web or squiggly lines. Facial veins are often simply a cosmetic nuisance, and not necessarily cause for concern. However, they can make you feel self-conscious and negatively affect your quality of life. Facial spots are usually the result of the adverse effects from exposure to UV light over time resulting in sun damage to your skin. Spots typically become noticeable as you age, but, can be present when you are young. How Do Lasers Work to Treat Vessels & Spots? Dr. Farrow uses a special laser with a wavelength of 532 nanometers. In simple terms, this 532 nm wavelength of light is absorbed readily by the red color of facial vessels and the brown color of spots. The laser beam is tiny so it can pinpoint veins and spots. When the laser light is applied then it is converted tp heat which causes the tiny vessels to immediately collapse and causes the dark spots to turn gray and slough off in 5-10 days. What Do Treatments Feel Like? With each pulse of the laser it feels like a tiny hot pin prick on your skin. However, a cold glass tip attached to the end of the laser hand piece cools the skin constantly during treatment, thus making the procedure more comfortable. * For some people it might take more than one treatment to achieve desired results. If so, treatments are generally spaced one month apart.

What is Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing? Fractional CO2 laser Resurfacing treatments can remove years of skin damage often with one quick treatment. The Plaxel Plus treatment is a non-surgical skin tightening and rejuvenation procedure that uses true plasma technology to stimulate collagen and elastin production. It is used to address a range of concerns, including wrinkles, skin laxity of the upper and lower eyelids, and more. What is Jeuveau (pronounced ju-vo)? Jeuveau is a wrinkle relaxer that was approved by the FDA in 2019. Jeuveau is a quick treatment prepared with Hi-Pure Technology, which purifies proteins. This technology allows the product to be potentially safer with an increased ability to act within the placed area and a lower likelihood of entering the blood stream. Results appear after three to four days and last up to 3-5 months. How Does Jeauveau Work? When expertly injected, Jeuveau blocks the nerve signaling process that causes muscles to contract and form wrinkles. This forces the blood to reroute through healthier veins, while the damaged veins fade away over the next two to six months. This is why Dr. Farrow offers Nitonox as an option for patients seeking a low-discomfort experience while they receive treatment. Nitronox is a delivery system that provides a gas mixture of 50% medical nitrous oxide and 50% medical oxygen. It is commonly used to help ease discomfort during some medical and aesthetic procedures, such as those involving injections and lasers. Accordingly, we are able to provide a service such as Nitronox which drastically reduces discomfort, and in many cases, anxiety for those receiving aesthetic treatments. Nitronox is classified as an analgesic which means it is specifically designed for pain relief. It is NOT classified as an anesthetic (a treatment meant to put you to sleep). If you experience any discomfort or anxiety during your treatment, you are able to inhale the gas mixture through a mouthpiece, as needed.
